Best harvest moon game for wii11/21/2023 So honestly its whatever one you played the most. But the artstyle, gameplay, and even story, were all reused multiple times. Might be controversial, but I really enjoyed the artstyle at first, the characters were fun, and the story added something needed imo. I actually really enjoy Natsumes first original branded game, The Lost Valley. Plus the children are waay better than any other HM game imo But its very fun and has some great spouse options. The beginning is slower than normal due to things being locked up at first and Heart points level slow. Also i love the note system.Īnimal parade is my favorite wii harvest moon, its super fun and looks great aesthetically. But also some newcomers that are just as good imo. That being said it has so many great bachelor's and Bachelorettes its got the classic lookalike originals: blue instead of grey, and nina instead of popuri. But it hasn't aged the best, being super slow and sluggish, plus not a ton of content that other games have. GC Magical Melody will always be nostalgic for me it was my first Harvest Moon, after all. i wish story of seasons could recapture the same feeling - i don't think they're nailing it just yet, but i hope they do soon!!! :D thinking about it makes me want to play it so badly but i couldn't find my disc earlier this week!!! anyway yeah, awl and ap are my faves but i truly think i would love any of the earlier hm games. it felt more whimsical than awl or other harvest moon games in terms of the harvest sprites/goddess and the general design (again in comparison to awl, which had a lot of earthy tones, although ik that's probably due to technological advancements as well) but it was fun, it was light, and i just. i really liked the design of the town and the farmlands, the villagers, the mining was so fun, and overall the Feel of the game. I think animal parade is tied with awl though !!! it felt realistic and is one of the games where there's too much to do in a day as opposed to a wonderful life where i'd argue there was almost too little. it'll always have a special place in my heart <3 and the music!!! and the shape of the cows!!! and forget me not valley itself!!! it was the first game i ever played by myself after growing up watching my brother play games so. it's incredibly nostalgic for me and the sound design is so satisfying and it really scratches an itch in my brain most other games haven't. I agree with you op!!! although i'd say another wonderful life over a wonderful life just bc i'm a girl and i liked playing as a girl (although from a gaming standpoint i do like the bachelorettes better). I WILL ALSO NEVER FORGET THE STRANGELY HOT PHOTOGRAPHER CHARACTER, GOD HE WAS HOT.ĮDIT: honorable mention to Save The Homeland just because the music was so memorable and i loved the style because it was so new!! And Manna and Duke's situation with their daughter, including why she left and her situation with the mailman. Like Cliff's story about his sister in the Winter. i love Back to Nature mostly because it's the first 3D HM game I ever played and i remember so many events that really struck me as a kid. In fact, I'm losing my mind nowadays because I can't seem to find another game that manages to do this as well!! A(n)WL's child was the entire focus of the game and the realism was definitely a HUGE plus re: animals and crop growth.Īnimal Parade's child helped you on the farm, grew, their personality differed depending on different things, they LOOKED like your spouse.and then you could do NG+ with them!! AMAZING!!!!! I'm a SUCKER for content where your children matter and what you DO changes who they become. The best games I've ever played were Back To Nature, A/nother Wonderful Life, and Animal Parade. Magical Melody had so much charm in the writing around the main plot of reviving the Harvest Goddess. Animal Parade was perfect with the rival marriages and children, plus I remember feeling so accomplished when I started to fill up space and bring in new villagers to town. I love the town progression over the years, I just wish there was a bit more growth with each chapter. I have the most nostalgia for AWL because it was my first HM game, but on replays I tend to get bored by the end of year one. I adore the original for the rival marriages (and I prefer the old designs for most), but it is hard to beat the vastly improved inventory + cute cows of the remake. The designs make way more sense for these characters than the FOMT versions of the same characters.įOMT is easy to replay over and over again, too. The gameplay was simple, but so fun, and the town and villagers are very charming. HM64!!! I wish all the time that I could play it on my switch, or anywhere other than with an emulator (I do not have a comfy PC gaming setup).
